Columbia
Beauty School is centrally located in the West Columbia, Cayce
area within minutes of the airport, with easy access to interstate
highways and close to the downtown region. The school occupies
approximately 5,000 square feet of space, containing offices,
classrooms for practical and theory work, a clinic area, a student
lounge, restrooms and a supply area. The clinic area is large
and open, allowing thirty students to service clients at one time,
while there are classroom areas shielded from public view. Each
senior student has a station of his or her own, and other students
have sufficient areas to perfect their practical exercises.

At
Columbia Beauty School, our goal is twofold: We want to graduate
knowledgeable and skilled Cosmetologists as set forth by the South
Carolina State Board of Cosmetology and the South Carolina Department
of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. This ensures that you are
capable of passing the state license exams. Just as important
to you as receiving your license are your Salon Readiness Skills.
We try to vary our daily practices and assignments enough so that
you are offered enough experiences to be considered "Salon
Ready" graduates. This ensures that you have the ability
to obtain employment in your newly chosen profession.
|

 |
The
Cosmetology course generally includes instruction in Styling and
Cutting, Perming, Hair Coloring, Makeup and Facials, Manicuring
and Pedicuring, Scalp and Hair Treatments and other related subjects.
There is a smattering of Chemistry, Anatomy, Massage, Salon Business
and People Skills. We try to help you develop your communication
skills, and sales ability as well.
Your
success in this field is all about "selling yourself".
We try to stress "your professionalism" and help you
improve your "customer relation skills" too. Upon graduation,
you will be qualified for employment at any salon. We all have
to "work our way up the ladder", and you will too, but
you will be well on your way if you put all of your best efforts
into learning all you can while you're in school.
